The IMA conference dabbed “Holy Spirit in Missions” had the theme this year: “In step with the Spirit” from Galatians 5:25. This majored mainly on giving, forgiving, healing and hope. Delegates arrived promptly on Thursday 12th August at 5.30pm to commence the conference that lasted till Saturday evening. The host delegates, Bishop. Dr. Henry Mulandi, Rev. Dr. Kennedy Mbatia and Bishop. Phillip Okeyo welcomed the guests. Delegates came from Asia, North America, Latin America and Africa. This conference was the 14th ever since the meetings started.
In addition to the teachings that were done both excellently and differently from each other, there were powerful moments of worship, moving testimonies, prayer, workshops, a time of interaction, giving of reports from various countries and praise. Notable among these were the prayer times, where delegates prayed for the entire world being led by the countries’ representatives. Those that were unrepresented were also remembered in prayer. It was beautiful to pray in the native languages from these countries.

The conference ended on Sunday 15th August as delegates joined Christian Church International Thika in celebrating thirty years. The out-going IMA president, Richard Showalter, was the speaker in the service.

A couple missionaries were commissioned during the service and prayers offered for them as they prepare to go to Asia.

IMA missions started thereafter, in Kithyoko and Ol Donyo Sabuk.

IMA missions

Donyo Sabuk Mission started on Sunday night, with a revival meeting at CCI Syumbuni.

Monday and Tuesday there was door to door evangelism in the mornings and crusades (open air meetings) in the afternoons. From 7-9pm, we held revival meetings. During the mission, a total of 44 people gave their lives to Christ.

It was an awesome experience in God’s Presence.

By Martha Gatehi

Kithyoko-Mission
We travelled to Kithyoko on Sunday afternoon and after a few minutes of losing our way; we finally got to the crusade ground, at Nzalae centre, at around 7pm. With no lights, we kicked off the meeting using headlights of one of our vehicle, as we looked with awe, at the waiting crowd. The meeting ran till 10.00pm
Monday and Tuesday mornings found us in the Deliverance Church-Nzalae, for morning devotion and a time of worship that ran till 12 noon. We then left to do house-to-house evangelism till 3pm. We visited two different places during the two days, and one of those days we visited a witchdoctors house and a member of the family got saved.
We had open air meetings on Monday and Tuesday both starting at 5.30pm. These meetings saw people get saved, others get delivered and others prayed for. About 21 people got saved during the mission.
Tuesday being our last day, we held an evening meeting running from 8.-1130pm which majorly involved a re-dedication of the church pastor and the entire leadership of the Deliverance church, as the missionaries said their goodbyes. Wednesday was the departure day where the missionaries prayed with the hospitality team and blessed them especially since they were not able to attend meetings with the others.

AND NOW… some more good news!

We are celebrating the safe arrival of baby Hetal Wairimu Gichuhi, Daughter to our media head, Anngladys Gichuhi. We thank God that they are both healthy, strong and both look great! God bless them and continue to watch over them.
Congratulations!

ALL GOOD THINGS…

Steve Bixler and his family; his wife Becky and two sons Isaac and Titus completed their 2 month mission here at African Christian Mission International. It was a huge blessing having the friendly family around, and interacting with them was a great pleasure.

Steve & Becky show some gifts from ACMI

Seeing their heart of service as they worked at the Magogoni Operation Hope Children Orphanage was inspiring. It was also encouraging having had them travel all the way from the States to join us in our cause for taking care of HIV-AIDS orphans and vulnerable children.

We will definitely miss them dearly, and would love to have them visit again and again. Welcome!! And Mungu awabariki sana!

We have 11 Life Changers ready to join the ACMI Life Changers program and serve for a year, as the term of the present ones comes to an end. They sure have been a blessing both within and without ACMI, and we look forward to another great year with the new ones.

ACMI, in collaboration with CCIT, (Christian Church International, Thika) will be sending the current Life Changers Coordinator, Dr. Richard Wanyonyi and his family as missionaries to Asia, for church planting. This will be in the month of August.

As the Tent Department continues to have the seats and tents out in action, they look forward to a lot of work in the month of August; please pray for their safety in work and travel. They will be covering a conference in Naivasha, the CCI National Conference in Dayspring, Juja, the IMA Conference and other personal events held at people’s houses.

They are also building a 2000 seater tent in addition to a 1500 one that they recently completed, bringing last year’s 4000 seater tent to a seating capacity of about 7500.

DRILLING

The Drilling Team is now in East Pokot, and Peter Mbuvi left this past week to go back to the Nuba Mountains to continue the ministry to the Muslims there.

The Drilling Team is currently working in Wambuli, Machakos.

IN THE PIPELINE

MEDIA

The Media Department continues to grow, and we look forward to projecting evangelistic movies when the Drilling Team goes out for action.

GOOD NEWS…

We have some good news to celebrate, as two of our staff members recently graduated from Kenyatta University, with good honors, for which we praise God. These are Winny Matuiy, the Assistant Coordinator of the Life Changers Program, and Anngladys Gichuhi, the Media Head of Department. We praise and thank God for and together with them.

As some of you may already know, Irene Muchiri, our Human Resource Manager, has resumed work after her leave, and we rejoice with her for her new born baby boy, McHenry Mulandi. (Irene Kawira is the wife of Paul Mulandi, Bishop Mulandi’s son.) This is something we are hoping to celebrate again soon….as Anngladys will also be taking a similar leave in the near future.
